Kohlrabi

Kohlrabi is German for “cabbage turnip” and has the same health benefits as broccoli and kale, but don’t let that stop you. It is crisp and delicious, with a touch of sweetness. This variety has purple skin, with white flesh. Eat it raw in salads or sliced for a snack. It is good cooked, like potatoes or celeriac. The leaves are good to eat, too.

Kossak

This is one big kohlrabi! It can get up to 10 inches in diameter, without becoming woody, but I’ll probably cut them more around 6 to 7 inches. It has all the same great qualities as smaller kohlrabi: crisp, juicy white flesh, with a touch of sweetness; just a lot more of it!
