Lettuce

Grandpa Admire’s

Uprising Seeds classifies this ARK Heirloom as loose leaf lettuce, though others group it with butterheads. The large heads are green, with a blush of red. Cloe Lowrey, at 90 years of age, gave it to the Seed Saver Exchange in 1977. Cloe is the granddaughter of George Admire, a civil war veteran, born in 1822.
